As a member of the BASE, you are first supporting our worldwide range of science and education missions, and then you can personally access and benefit following programs and activities:

Application for the BASE Research (BASER) foundation

This is a competitive and comprehensive foundation that supports professional or non-professional researchers working at universities, institutes, and academies. If you are interested in scientific research and want to make something different, yes, you can apply. The BASER foundation grants each entrant up to $500-1,000 (USD). A total of 10 grants will be issued each year. If you perform continual work, you can apply for a renewal for the support of up to 5 years based on your active membership.

Eligibility

  • With minimal Bachelor’s degree of the applicant or the correspondent of the application;
  • With ages from 25 to 60 years old;
  • A research proposal is required;
  • No religious limitation;
  • Disables or minorities are encouraged for application;
  • Applicants from low-resource countries are strongly recommended;
  • Female researchers are warmly welcomed;
  • The work should be marked with “The BASE Foundation Supported” when it was completed, released, published, or spread;
  • Annual reports are required when the work was done;
  • The institute of the applicant working is willing to accept the BASE as a collaborator, and a signed approval certificate is needed;
  • The guarantee of “no misconduct in scientific research” is needed;

Application for the BASE Education (BASEE) foundation

This is a hope-catching foundation aiming for promoting science education to the far corners of the world. No matter where you are, who you are teaching or educating, and what kinds of disciplines you are focusing on, you can apply it only if you are working to spread scientific knowledge. The BASEE foundation grants each entrant up to $500-1,000 (USD). A total of 10 grants will be issued each year. If you perform continual work, you can apply for a renewal for the support of up to 3 years based on your active membership.

Eligibility

  • Without a requirement for the minimum academic degree;
  • With ages from 20 to 65 years old;
  • Science education proposal is required;
  • Junior science education plan is preferred;
  • No religious limitation;
  • Disables or minorities are encouraged for application;
  • Applicants from low-resource countries are strongly recommended;
  • Female educators are warmly welcomed;
  • The work should be marked with “The BASE Foundation Supported” when it was performing or spreading;
  • Annual reports are required when the work was done;
  • The institute of the applicant working is willing to accept the BASE as a collaborator, and a signed approval certificate is needed;

Publication in Science Insights® with priority

As the platform of scientific advancement and education, your submissions to Science Insights® will be considered with priority, and further, you apply for a 50% waiver for the publication charges.


Waiver for the nomination fee of “Yearly Best Paper” award

Science Insights® awards the paper nominated as the “Yearly Best Paper” for each category of the published paper in the Journal. If you are a BASE member, the nomination fee for this application will be waived totally. A total of $100 (USD) is required for the evaluation by the Nomination Committee. The author or the group (over 2 authors) will be awarded up to $300 (USD) for each paper.


Automatically entrance to the Science Traveler Plan (STP) with 50% off the payment

The BASE organizes travelers around the world for science exploration every three years. You do not need to pay for the application if you are an active member of the BASE. The application fee for the STP is $100 (USD) for each applicant. We enroll over 30 travelers each time to form a team. We explore nature, and we tap the world. The BASE will cover half cost of the travel (about $1,000 USD on average).

You can access the 36 issues of the contents of Science Insights® online at any time and anywhere if you are a member with your personal member ID; no subscription is needed.


To be the regional representative of the BASE and to be a regional editor of Science Insights®

We select regional representative of the BASE and regional editor of Science Insights® only from our active members. The selected members for these purposes are not merely receiving all the above-mentioned personal member benefits and services, but also having the priority in publishing their work in the Journal and may be nominated as the “Science Pioneer” yearly $500 (USD) award.
