Ten year old Max Weber does not believe in the Raining Man. The elders in his town send the man gifts on every New Year’s Eve so their lands remain bountiful every year as they have for centuries. One New Year’s Eve, after ensuring everyone is asleep, Max decides to steal the gifts placed atop the Rain Hill in order to show the townsfolk how wrong they have been all along. But things go horribly wrong when his rash action results in a drought killing all the crops and causing a famine in the process. Feeling guilty for bringing down such immense despair on his people, Max is forced to set things right. In order to do so he must find the Land of Perpetual Rain this has always been the fabled abode for the Raining Man. His only companions are the family dog Zipper and a mold-infested shoe given to him by his 100 year old grandmother. However, his path is not easy, and along the way he has to confront a pixie whose only aim is to lead him astray and a woman who refuses to let him pass through her village to the Land of Perpetual Rain beyond.
